What we did here
A single-story ranch from the middle of the 1970s: low ceilings, a galley kitchen, dark hall baths, and a back wall with one small window facing the part of the lot worth looking at. Three projects in one, sequenced as one.
The ceiling came up to the underside of the roof structure across the main living space, which is the change that does the most in a house of this era and the one that is hardest to see in a photograph until you see the before.
A house built in 1974 is pre-1978, so the federal lead-paint rules govern every disturbed painted surface. On a project touching this much of a house, that is not a footnote — it is a line in the schedule and a line in the number.
